Counselor Blatt is a counselor and a vice principal at West Valley High School. She is featured in the show Cobra Kai.

Biography[]

Season 1[]

She is first shown to be on a phone call to Mrs. Moskowitz about Eli's bullying for his lip. She makes an announcement the following day and keeps Eli's (later Hawk) name out of it, but people obviously know that it was him. She then makes a Halloween announcement and tells people about the costume recommendations for the dance, but is poorly thought of by Yasmine and Moon (back when they were Season 1 bullies), who laugh at her, while others ignore her, including Samantha, who is texting love messages to Kyler.

At the Halloween Dance, she accepts Daniel's invitation to manage the Dance and keep watch of the students and befriends him, unaware that Daniel's true intentions were to keep an eye on Sam and Kyler, and protect Sam at all costs after Johnny told Daniel the truth about Kyler and his goons bullying Miguel. In the family dinner leading up to Daniel telling his family he will be acting as a chaperone for the dance, he claims he and Counselor Blatt "go way back" but does not elaborate.

While speaking together at the dance, Counselor Blatt expresses that she is still surprised that Ali and Daniel broke up right after high school, suggesting she was a classmate of theirs. She also is seen breaking up the fight between Miguel versus Kyler and his friends in the school cafeteria in the episode "Counterbalance".

Season 2[]

Counselor Blatt doesn't appear in this season, as it was the summer holidays throughout this season, it is also unknown where she was at the first day back to West Valley High School.

Season 3[]

She appears again in this season when school opened for the first time in two weeks ever since the karate war. The School Karate Brawl between Cobra Kai and Miyagi-Do's caused the school to close for two weeks by the California Council Judge & the News aka Press/Media, so the school and council judge can enforce safety measures and guidelines and limit physical contact to keep the karate fighting under control. In the PTA Meeting by Mr. Lopez, Blatt and other executives of West Valley High, she and Lopez speak out to parents about their recent safety guidelines accepted by the Judge and the Press. When one parent asks about 'the adult man that attacked kids' referring to Stingray, Lopez and Blatt say that they arranged for Stingray to be arrested and that his probation required him not to be near the school and any minor, and that Stingray never worked for them and was just a security guard applicant for the school. Blatt also stated that the school had organized a new rule called "Hugs not Hits".

When Demetri and Sam confront Hawk about destroying their science project, Blatt intervenes and thinks Sam and Demetri were instigating an argument, making her look unfair as a result. After the PE teacher sends Hawk and his Cobra's Team and Sam, Demetri and the Miyagi-Do's to Blatt's office for physical contact and swiping each other and striking against each other, Blatt proves to be unfair yet again, as she lets Hawk and the Cobra Kai's go freely because she thought they were the ones being attacked, and gives detention to the Miyagi-Do's. Sam reacts poorly to this, and the Miyagi Do's skip detention to do training. Blatt doesn't appear after this.

Season 4[]

Just like season 2, Blatt is absent in seasons 4 and 5. She is never mentioned as well, so it is unknown what happened to her, though it's likely she is still a counselor at West Valley High School, despite not being seen.

Personality[]

Throughout the series, Blatt has proven to be an incompetent woman, almost completely ignorant to the bullying in her school. She's also shown to be more concerned with buzzwords, and turns a blind eye to the issues of racism, sexism and classism in the school, and her decisions only make things worse instead of better.
